Acupuncture
Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago and is widely
practiced around the world. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture
treatments are delivered based upon the theory of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang are
inseparable opposed ideas existing in perfect harmony. When the balance of Yin
and Yang is disturbed, a disharmony will occur and manifest itself as a pattern
of disease. The purpose of acupuncture is to help the body heal itself by
inserting thin needles into specific points on the body; thus harmonizing Yin
and Yang.
TCM does not separate mind and body or seek to alleviate illness via a single
mechanism like pharmaceutical drugs. In Chinese medicine illness in viewed in
terms of the movement of qi, bodily substances and pathogenic factors.
Acupuncture has an accumulative effect as treatment is gradual and unfolding,
with each treatment peeling back and treating the layers underneath to reveal
the core issues.
Facial Acupuncture for rejuvenation and revitalisation
Facial Acupuncture for men and women is available as a safe and cost
effective option to rejuvenate tone and improve the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkles the natural way. It uses the application
of fine needles to stimulate energy and blood flow on key points and areas on
the face, head, ears and body.
Over the course of treatments you can expect to appear more radiant and also
start to feel more at balance and happy in yourself. Facial Revitalising
Acupuncture will bring your natural beauty to the surface.
After the initial sessions your facial features become more toned
and the healing effects of acupuncture and massage start to take effect. The
number of sessions recommended may differ from person to person depending on any
underlying health issues or lifestyle prior to treatment. For prolonged results,
a course of 10 treatments is usual, with further treatments scheduled to
maintain results and maximise the benefits.
Holistic Massage
Massage - the manipulation of the soft tissue of the body - has been used as
a healing therapy for many thousands of years. The ancient cultures of China,
Japan, Egypt, Rome, Greece and Arabia all considered massage to be calming,
soothing and relaxing, and also very important as a healing therapy.
Massage uses the therapist's hands to manipulate the body's soft tissue,
especially the muscles. Holistic massage can be used to treat a wide range of
conditions such as stress, insomnia, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle spasms and
general aches and pains.
Massage relieves the symptoms of stiff, tired joints, speeds up digestion and
encourages improved circulation, promotes relaxation and improved sleep.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is based on Swedish massage, a technique that uses the
application of pressure to manipulate soft tissue. Swedish massage involves the
use of gliding strokes, kneading movements, circular pressure of the hand and
fingers, vibratory movements, brisk tapping and bending and stretching.
Sports massage incorporates all of these Swedish massage movements, together
with additional intensive techniques that are specifically designed to prevent
and treat sports injuries. The aim is to improve the suppleness and flexibility
of muscles and joints, improve blood circulation, speed up the healing of
damaged or stressed muscles, tissues and joints, and prevent future muscle and
tendon injuries.
Sports massage is good for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to
the musculoskeletal system. It reduces strain and discomfort caused by training
or participating in sport, and it encourages the body to heal and repair any
injuries sustained.
